Ayfer & Lomu – Milton park Wedding

Ayfer & Lomu both decided to hold their wedding at the stunning Milton Park Country House Estate. For their Milton Park wedding, they wanted it to somewhat resemble a summer wedding in the Hamptons. The couple wanted to throw a ‘classy soiree’ for their friends and family and provide them with a Hollywood moment. This was achieved with the venue they selected, an outdoor ceremony, cocktails in the garden and a Vanity Fair style family portrait shoot in front of the bathhoouse.

Before their Milton Park wedding, Ayfer & Lomu dated for several years. The two first met in high school after Lomu moved from New Zealand to Australia with his family. Ayfer told me that Lomu walked into her maths class and she instantly thought he was a looker. She immediately asked him to come and sit next to her but he was a little hesitant and ended up sitting next to someone else. Even though nothing eventuated from their first meeting, it did some years later. Both went off on their separate paths, Lomu won a Commonwealth Games medal in Boxing and Ayfer moved away to study. After some time had passed, they eventually touched base and what started as a close friendship ended in a loving relationship.

For the proposal which lead to their Milton Park Wedding, Lomu, who apparently is not a very organised person, arranged a full weekend away at the Shangri-la hotel in Sydney. Ayfer had her work Christmas party that weekend so she didn’t realise what had been arranged. Before heading out to dinner, Lomu asked Ayfer to meet him at the room for some pre-dinner drinks. To sweep her off her feet, he filled the suite with hundreds of red roses and singer/guitarist who a variety of meaningful love songs – and Lomu sang the last song of course! According to Ayfer it was a brilliantly executed surprise and made for the most special day!
