Claire & Ryan – The Woodhouse Wollombi

In your own words, tell me a little about yourselves? – We’ve been together for fourteen years and met through mutual friends in our early twenties. We moved in together in Balmain around seven years ago and in the last two years we welcomed Ronnie our golden retriever into our household. Claire works in Finance for Coca Cola, and Ryan works as a builder, mostly on residential builds in the inner west.

How did the proposal go down that lead to your Woodhouse Wollombi Wedding? – Ryan proposed in Wanaka, NZ in October 2023. We completed a hike up a mountain and after admiring the view for half an hour, he asked another hiker to take a photo and got down on one knee to propose.

Can you tell me a little about your vision for the wedding day? – After being together for so long, we are really looking forward to celebrating this special day with our families and friends, in an outdoor and relaxed environment. The dress code for our Woodhouse Wollombi wedding is formal, but in general the style will be quite easy going, just a beautiful day all together to enjoy the company and occasion at this stunning wedding venue.

Why did The Woodhouse Wollombi appeal to you for your wedding and what was your reason for selecting it? – We really loved the outdoor grounds that are surrounded by bush which had a relaxed, oasis feel, the in-door reception was warm and welcoming, the venue is pet friendly for Ronnie and has accomodation onsite which will make it easy on the day. We also liked that there isn’t an early curfew, so we can dance the night away after the formalities are finished.
