Chelsea & Dean’s – Balmoral Wedding

Can you share a little about yourselves: We both have a Bachelor of Business with a major in Finance and Accounting which funnily enough brought us together where we met at our first job after graduating from Uni. As boring as our careers sound, we wouldn’t call ourselves the typical accountants. Dean and I are both terrible at budgeting, we love being social, we crave the outdoors and love an adventure.

Tell us about the proposal that led to your Balmoral wedding?: Dean’s intention was to propose hot air ballooning, however, it was cancelled the day before due to heavy winds. I had been at a girlfriend’s house during the day, so Dean picked me up and we headed to my parents place in Wamberal (which was always the plan if we were going hot air ballooning). Dean went with Plan B which I think he decided on the drive. On the way Dean suggested we grab some drinks and head down to the beach to watch the sunset (on a cold, windy spring afternoon). Little did I know he was going to propose!! That night we had dinner and drinks with both our parents to celebrate.

What was your wedding day vision: As we both love the beach and being by the water we wanted our wedding to be in a coastal location. We wanted the coastal feel but didn’t want to forgo on the finer details so therefore also went with a modernised formal approach. The location and food were most important to us.

What led you to select The Public Dining Room for your Balmoral wedding? The Public Dining Room is close to home, serves amazing food with a view to die for (on our local beach which we are always at during the summer time). Once you are inside the venue, everything is a clean white / coastal feel which kept with the themes we wanted to bring into the day. We didn’t feel like we needed to add anything to the space or crowd it with flowers etc, as the location speaks for itself.
