Unless you book a Studio Package, Richard will always be the photographer on the day.
Over the course of an entire day, Lonely Hunter will take on average 5000-6000 photos. Of those images, we select the best photos and remove any duplicates, blurry or unflattering photos. This usually results in a delivery amount in the range of 700 - 1000 images. As a guide you can expect to receive 100 images per hour of shoot time, for example, an 8 hour wedding could receive around 800 images.
You can however purchase every image captured unedited in RAW file format if desired but this is an additional cost. For our current pricing, please refer to the pricing and package page we would have sent you.
Yes, we most definitely do engagement shoots. We usually do these either on the Central Coast or in Sydney.
Engagement shoots are quite beneficial as they will not only give you some experience and confidence but they will also provide valuable insights into how we will work on your wedding day. For our current pricing, please refer to the pricing and package page we would have sent you.
Yes we are fully insured. If you or your venue needs a copy of our public liability insurance, you can grab that here.
This will depend on the amount of coverage booked and what sections of the day you value most when it comes to the photography. However to tell the full story of your wedding day, we usually try to start the day allowing at least 1 hour each for the prep photos and finish the day allowing at least 45 minutes for dance floor photos.
In most instance, if there is only one photographer, we would photograph the groom prep first and the bride prep second. The reason we do this is so that the brides hair and make up is completed as close as possible to the ceremony start time.
If you have booked two photographers, then the prep can start simultaneously. In this instance, the second photographer would photograph the groom prep and the main shooter would photograph the bride prep
The bride and bridesmaids should have their hair and makeup fully complete at least 1 hour before leaving for the ceremony.
Every wedding day is different but as a guide, these are the times we would aim to allow:
Bride & groom prep: 1 - 1.5 hours each
Travel to ceremony: Add travel time if getting ready off site + 10 mins for parking and traffic
Photograph ceremony details: 10 mins (20 minutes before ceremony starts)
Ceremony: Consult celebrant on length of ceremony (usually 20-30 mins)
Post ceremony congratulations: 10 mins
Group photo: 5 mins
Family formal photos: 15 - 30 mins
Travel to portrait location: Add travel time if photos are being done off site + 10 mins for parking and traffic
Portraits: 1 hour
Travel to reception: Add travel time if photos were done off site + 10 mins for parking and traffic
Photograph Reception details: 15 - 20 mins
Sunset photos (in daylight savings): 10-15 mins
Ideally the portraits should be done in the hour prior to the time of sunset. This often isn't always possible though given that there are many moving parts on a wedding day. So depending on your wedding, just try to do the portraits as close to this time (the hour before sunset) as possible.
Of course, you can see all the vendors we recommend on this page.
Yes that would be great! If you have booked a 6, 8, 10 hour package then a vendor meal is required and would be greatly appreciated!
No, I (Richard) do not have any dietary requirements.
We don't usually work off shot lists but you are more than welcome to provide a small selection of images for us to use as inspiration on the wedding day if you would like. You can however, put together a family photo list of all the different combinations you would like photographed during the family formals.
Yes, we always photograph with two memory cards in each camera which means there is always a backup in case one card fails.
After the wedding day, we download and store all your images on three separate hard drives (one in an offsite location) to ensure there will always be a copy in case one hard drive fails or an unfortunate event occurs such as a house fire or burglary etc.
Yes we edit every single image, one by one with our signature style. After we have edited every image, we then do a second pass through the images to review the edits while making any necessary tweaks to ensure your images are perfect.
There isn't a set percentage of black & white to colour images that we deliver on every occasion. We do however allow for up to 30% black and white images and 70% colour. The actual percentage of black and white to colour images you receive will depend on the day, lighting and which images we believe look best in black and white or colour.
Your photos will be uploaded to a private online gallery where you will have the ability to download these files in High res or Low res (social media) JPEG formats.
Images are downloaded from your online gallery in JPEG formats. You do have the option to purchase every image captured on the day unedited in RAW file format if that is what you are after but this is an additional cost.
Yes, your online gallery can be shared with family and friends.
Prints and frames can be ordered directly through your online gallery.
Fine art albums can be ordered through the Album Design page in the client studio - Order here
If your selected package contains a highlight reel (70 - 150 images), you can expect to receive this within 1 week following the wedding.
Full galleries are delivered within 6 weeks following the wedding.
You will have access to your online gallery for a minimum of 6 months but possibly longer. If your online gallery is due to go offline, you will be notified in advance by email.
Unfortunately not, second shooters are selected by Lonely Hunter and are based on availability
If Lonely Hunter happens to be sick on your day we will do everything we can to secure a replacement photographer for you.
If we can't manage to find a replacement photographer then we will provide a full refund.
We will always try to keep one full copy of the delivered images on our hard drive in case something unfortunate happens to your copy and you need a replacement. Please keep in mind that this isn't a service we guarantee or promise and there may be additional costs when it comes to providing a replacement set of images.
