About Our Fine Art Albums
All our Fine Art albums come in a flushmount style. A flushmount album is designed to open so that it is completely flat from edge to edge without any bulging or blemishes. This style of fine art album is considered to be the gold standard when it comes to displaying your images within a beautifully bound book. At Lonely Hunter we offer two sizes 10 x 10" ($1100) and 12 x 12" ($1350). Both sizes come complete with 20 spreads (40 pages). All images are printed onto premium fine art papers using inkjet printing technologies.
We like to give our clients as many options as possible when it comes to designing their album so that each album is unique while reflecting the personality and character of each person. To help with this, each album can be designed with a wide selection of cover materials and colours to choose from, custom cover designs and varying page thicknesses. All albums come wrapped in a beautiful swede pouch which is then carefully placed in a bespoke box. All of these features are bundled into one set price for your album. However if you would like to add more spreads, upgrade the presentation box or purchase additional copy/parent albums, this can all be done as well.
Creating Your Album
Images for your album can be personally selected by you through your online gallery. Once you have placed your order at the bottom of this page, we will send through a selection request. The number of selected images is calculated at 4-5 images per spread. This means an album with 20 spreads, would include approx 80 - 100 images. Once you have made your selections, you can notify us via your online gallery.
When it comes to ordering and designing your album, Lonely Hunter has created the step by step guide seen below so as to make the design process as smooth and easy as possible. Below, you will find the complete range of design options that are available to you when designing the album. Please take note of the different options that appeal to you as you make your way down the page. Once you reach the bottom there will be a form where you can enter all the necessary details. Once we have received the completed form and your selected images, we will send through an invoice for payment. Please Note: All payments will need to be received before the album can be put into production.
Step 1
Album Page Thicknesses
When it comes to selecting your page thickness, our preferred type is the 'medium' option. We believe the slightly thicker pages will give the album a more luxurious look and feel. These measurements are intended as a guide to the relative thicknesses of the various pages and are approximate.
Light - 1.35mm
Medium - 1.75mm
Step 2 (Optional Extra)
Additional Spreads
All albums come complete complete with 20 spreads (40 pages). We do however recommend adding an additional 5 spreads so the total number of spreads comes to 25 (50 pages). When considering how many spreads you need, you should allow for roughly 4-5 images per spread (some pages may have less, some pages may have more). If you want to include as many images as possible, increase the number of spreads to the maximum. If you would like to increase the number of spreads over and above the 20 provided, please use the prices below as more spreads are an added extra.
Step 3
Translucent Page
Translucent Title Pages can add another dimension of artisanship to your album. These aren't necessarily for everyone but they are included in the album cost so the option is yours to add one if you wish. The semi translucent page will sit on the right hand side of the first spread allowing you to partially see through to the image printed behind. The translucent page can contain your names, the date of your wedding and who the photography was by.
Step 4
Select Your Album Cover Material & Colour
Please note: The swatches below will be labeled as to whether they can be blind embossed or foil embossed. With multiple material/foil combinations, for technical reasons some combinations may not work in practice. I will advise if your selection proves unsuitable.
Vintage Leathers
Earthy leathers that evoke distant, rugged landscapes. Inviting textures that will respond to your touch. Please note, natural growth and range markings are a feature of the Vintage Leathers and make every book, box and album unique. Please choose from the Classic and Contemporary ranges if you require a "grain corrected" finish. All vintage leather swatches shown below are available for blind embossing & foil embossing.
Contemporary Genuine Leathers
Specially made by one of France's oldest and finest artisan tanneries. All contemporary genuine leather swatches shown below are available for blind embossing only.
Classic Genuine Leathers
Beautiful hides, soft to the touch, from one of Europe's leading leather suppliers. All classic genuine leather swatches shown below are available for blind embossing & foil embossing.
Step 5
Select Your Cover Design
You can add a personal touch to your albums with front cover embossing. There are five standard embossing options to choose from which are shown below. If you would like to use a completely different font or design, this will need to be supplied when filling out the order form at the bottom of this page. Custom designs which exceed 70x37mm, 100x25mm or 147x15mm will cost extra. Please double-check names and dates are correct, Lonely Hunter cannot be held responsible for errors in the artwork you supply.
The first two standard options (1 & 2) shown below are 'blind' embossings (pressed into the cover without foil). The remaining three (3,4 & 5) offer the choice of blind embossing or foiled.
Position: Embossings are normally placed in the center of the cover, but within limits you can request a different position (bottom right, spine etc). If you'd like a proof of the size and position, just add a special note in the form at the bottom of the page.

Available with blind embossing only.
