Nadia & David – Lane Cove National Park

Nadia & David’s Lane Cove National Park Wedding was originally supposed to be held at Cabarita Park Conservatory but with only six weeks to go their venue cancelled on them. So instead of letting it get them down, Nadia and David set out to find a new venue. This time though they opted for an entirely outdoor option, a beautiful spot in Lane Cover National Park that holds sentimental value to both of them. The vision for their wedding was a little bit rustic, a little bit bohemian, elegant and relaxed. Their plan was to hold an afternoon wedding and keep things relatively simple, especially with everything that has happened so far in 2020.

So how did their Lane Cove National Park wedding come to be? Well, like all good things start, Nadia and David first met at the local pub through mutual friends. Nadia was studying to be a psychologist and David at that point in time was pursuing a music degree. They hit it off quickly and began acting like an old married couple (much to their flatmates’ annoyance), even though it would take them almost a decade to actually think about tying the knot! David decided to propose on a sunny afternoon by the water, drinking champagne for their anniversary. He asked Nadia to stand up and pose for a photo.. and then proceeded to pull out a ring! Apparently it was the best ending to a beautiful afternoon and important milestone in their relationship.

Leading up to their Lane Cove National Park wedding, I asked what they both had learnt about each other since being together and this is what they said: Nadia has learnt that David has incredible warmth, empathy and an uncanny ability to keep her centered no matter what is happening in life. His ability to turn absolutely any moment – sad, happy, exciting, commiserating – into a conversation about their next meal will never fail to amuse her. David has learnt that love can be expressed in many ways, including cooking and small daily gestures. Nadia is dedicated and focused, in all areas of her life and approaches every moment with presence of mind and clarity of focus. She enjoys the little things and does not feel that life is complete without a beautiful, green plant and a cat to play with.
