Kelsey & Charlie – The Old Coach Stables Wedding

Can you tell us a little about yourselves?: Charlie and I had a similar group of friends and lived in the same town though had never met. It was definitely love at first when Charlie was introduced to me when we were just 20 years old, we had seen each other a few times in a local cafe that charlies sister owned though never spoken until that night 7th November (fitting because we are getting married 7th January). 6 years later we are getting married and now own and run that cafe together where we first laid eyes on each other.

How did the proposal take place that lead to your The Old Coach Stables wedding?: We had been together for 5 years and owned Grit cafe for 3 together, so we knew from the beginning it was forever. I really wanted to get engaged though we had only spoken about it briefly. We took a trip to America and Mexico where I thought Charlie would propose but soon realised this wasn’t going to happen. Six months later, we were driving down the coast on a weekend getaway, sleeping in the back of our van when I asked to pull over at a lookout. It was freezing and there was no one else there besides some rock climbers. We were looking out at the view and walking around the clifftop when Charlie made a noise, I turned around and he was down on one knee. He said ‘so what do you think’?! It was the craziest feeling, knowing this was something I had dreamt about since we met and yet I still felt like we were just kids. I cried and poor Charlie had to get off his knee and hug me, I soon realised it was really happening and looked for the ring. It was absolutely perfect and I said yes!

What have you learnt about each other since being together?: I have learnt that you can do anything you put your mind to with hard work and determination. Charlie is the most motivated person I have ever met and that inspires me everyday to do my best in anything I do. Charlie makes me laugh more than anyone. I can also go to him for advice in life or our business. We truly are the greatest team.

What is the vision for your The Old Coach Stables Wedding?: We really want it to be romantic, elegant and fun filled with lots of dancing and laughter!

What was the reason for selecting The Old Coach Stables as your wedding venue?: Melinda and Scott the venue owners are like parents to me and I wouldn’t have it anywhere else! Besides, no one else would put up with my requests.
